The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said: Americans must fulfill their commitments for us to take action to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, during a meeting with the Islamic Relations Officer of Hamas, stated that the Islamic Republic does not reject negotiations, but considers it "a tool for struggle." He added that abandoning the fight against the U.S. and Israel means defeat.

He further mentioned that during the negotiations, the Islamic Republic raised the end of the war against Iran and its allies in the "Resistance Front" in the first article of the memorandum, while, according to him, the opposing side requested a complete halt to missile, nuclear, and "Resistance Front" activities in the initial 15-article text.

محمدباقر قالیباف، در دیدار با مسئول ارتباطات اسلامی حماس گفت جمهوری اسلامی مذاکره را رد نمی‌کند، اما آن را «ابزاری برای مبارزه» می‌داند.
او گفت کنار گذاشتن مبارزه با آمریکا و اسرائیل به معنای شکست است.

او افزود جمهوری اسلامی در جریان مذاکرات، پایان جنگ علیه ایران و متحدانش در «جبهه مقاومت» را در ماده نخست تفاهم‌نامه مطرح کرد، در حالی که به گفته او، طرف مقابل در متن اولیه ۱۵ ماده‌ای خواستار توقف کامل فعالیت‌های موشکی، هسته‌ای و فعالیت‌های «جبهه مقاومت» شده بود.
