Hossein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief of Kayhan newspaper, wrote in a note on Thursday, September 12, that the army and the IRGC should use the "lever" of international fiber optic cables passing through the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz to "counter the U.S. and its allies."
The editor-in-chief of Kayhan newspaper wrote: "Deep in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz lies one of the international fiber optic highways. A highway through which the majority of internet communications, international calls, banking transactions, cloud services (iCloud), and even artificial intelligence communications and data centers pass."
Hossein Shariatmadari, Khamenei's representative at Kayhan newspaper, emphasized: "This is a message to the country's officials, especially to the army and the IRGC; look closely! The global internet cables wave at us from beneath the waters of the Strait of Hormuz and the always Persian Gulf, speaking in a thousand languages, asking why you have forgotten our role in this war?"

حسین شریعتمداری، مدیرمسئول روزنامه کیهان، پنجشنبه ۱۲ شهریور در یادداشتی نوشت که ارتش و سپاه باید از «اهرم» عبور کابلهای فیبر نوری بینالمللی در خلیج فارس و تنگه هرمز برای «مقابله با آمریکا و متحدانش» استفاده کنند.
مدیرمسئول روزنامه کیهان نوشت: «در عمق آبهای خلیج فارس و تنگه هرمز یکی از شاهراههای فیبر نوری بینالمللی جای گرفته است. شاهراهی که بیشترین ارتباطات اینترنت، تماسهای بینالمللی، تراکنشهای بانکی، سرویسهای ابری (iCloud) و حتی ارتباطات هوش مصنوعی و دیتاسنترها از همین کابلها عبور میکنند.»
حسین شریعتمداری، نماینده خامنهای در روزنامه کیهان، تاکید کرد: «سخن با مسئولان کشور و مخصوصا با ارتش و سپاه است؛ خوب نگاه کنید! کابلهای اینترنت جهانی از زیر آبهای تنگه هرمز و خلیج همیشه فارس برایمان دست تکان میدهند و با هزار زبان میگویند چرا نقش ما را در این جنگ فراموش کردهاید؟»
