The Public Relations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced early Sunday in a statement that the Aerospace Force of this organization targeted a U.S. aircraft carrier and a destroyer using several ballistic missiles. The statement mentioned that these vessels had participated in maritime blockade and the obstruction of Iranian ships, and after this attack, they "sustained damage" and "left the area of conflict." The IRGC also referred to the confirmation of the clashes by CENTCOM, considering this operation a response to Washington's military actions and warned that if military pressures and maritime blockades continue, broader military responses will be directed at American forces.

روابط عمومی سپاه پاسداران، بامداد یکشنبه، با انتشار بیانیه‌ای اعلام کرد که نیروی هوافضای این نهاد با استفاده از چند موشک بالستیک، یک ناو هواپیمابر و یک ناوشکن ارتش ایالات متحده را هدف قرار داده است. در این بیانیه آمده است که این شناورها در محاصره دریایی و مسدود کردن مسیر کشتی‌های ایرانی مشارکت داشته‌اند و پس از این حمله «دچار خسارت شده» و «منطقه درگیری را ترک کرده‌اند». سپاه پاسداران همچنین با اشاره به تایید وقوع درگیری‌ها از سوی سنتکام، این عملیات را پاسخی به اقدامات نظامی واشنگتن دانسته و هشدار داده است که در صورت تداوم فشارهای نظامی و محاصره دریایی، پاسخ‌های نظامی گسترده‌تری متوجه نیروهای آمریکایی خواهد شد.
