IRGC: We targeted two vessels and eight oil tankers

The IRGC, which had reported its missile attacks on U.S. positions in Jordan and Bahrain through several announcements over the past few hours, claimed in its latest statement that in response to the U.S. attack on five Iranian oil tankers, the IRGC Navy attacked "two American vessels and eight oil tankers," inflicting "significant damage" on them.

In this statement, released early Wednesday, September 18, it is also claimed that "10 violating ships, which according to the IRGC Navy intended to pass through the 'forbidden and unsafe area of the Strait of Hormuz,' were attacked."

These reports have not yet been confirmed by independent sources. However, CENTCOM, in its midnight statement on Tuesday, considered the targeting of five Iranian oil tankers as a response to the attack on its warships and stated that these warships were not damaged and are continuing their missions.

سپاه پاسداران: دو شناور و هشت نفتکش را هدف قرار دادیم

سپاه پاسداران که در طول چند ساعت گذشته با انتشار چند اطلاعیه از حملات موشکی خود به مواضع آمریکا در اردن و بحرین خبر داده بود، در آخرین اطلاعیه مدعی شده است که در واکنش به حمله آمریکا به ۵ نفتکش ایران نیروی دریایی سپاه به «دو فروند شناور آمریکایی و هشت نفتکش» حمله کرده و «خسارت های زیادی» به آنها وارد کرده است.

در این اطلاعیه که بامداد چهارشنبه ۱۸ شهریور منتشر شده همچنین ادعا شده است که «۱۰ فروند کشتی متخلف که به گفته نیروی دریایی سپاه، قصد عبور از «منطقه ممنوعه و ناایمن تنگه هرمز» را داشتند حمله شده است.

این گزارش‌ها هنوز از سوی منابع مستقل تایید نشده است.
با این حال، سنتکام در اطلاعیه نیمه شب سه‌شنبه خود هدف قرار دادن ۵ نفتکش ایران را در واکنش به حمله به رزم‌ناوهای خود دانسته و گفته بود این ناوهای جنگی خسارت ندیده و در حال ادامه ماموریت‌های خود هستند.
