Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, announced in an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday, September 19, that the organization has observed construction activity at the highly fortified site of "Pickaxe Mountain" in southern Iran's main enrichment complex based on satellite images.

Grossi noted that agency inspectors have not yet succeeded in inspecting inside these deep tunnels, stating, "There are live signs of activity around this construction site, but there is no precise information about the activities within it." He reminded that Iran had previously announced its intention to relocate equipment underground to "protect against attacks."

These remarks come following the referral of Iran's nuclear case to the United Nations Security Council. According to reports, the agency has not been able to verify the status of high-enriched uranium stocks since June 2025, following military attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran's nuclear facilities.
Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, once again warned against any actions by Iran, referring to this underground site during a campaign rally, saying, "We have noticed some limited activities at Pickaxe Mountain. I advise Iran not to make a mistake, as we will have to hit them very hard."

On the other hand, CNN reported yesterday, citing its sources, that the United States is developing a weapon with greater penetration capability to destroy targets in hard terrains like Pickaxe Mountain.

رافائل گروسی، مدیرکل آژانس بین‌المللی انرژی اتمی، روز پنجشنبه ۱۹ شهریور در گفتگو با بلومبرگ اعلام کرد این سازمان بر اساس تصاویر ماهواره‌ای، شاهد تحرکات ساخت‌وساز در سایت بسیار مستحکم «کوه کلنگ‌گزلا» (Pickaxe Mountain) در جنوب مجتمع اصلی غنی‌سازی ایران بوده است.

گروسی با اشاره به اینکه بازرسان آژانس هنوز موفق به بازرسی از داخل این تونل‌های عمیق نشده‌اند، گفت: «نشانه زنده از تحرکات در اطراف این سایت ساخت‌وساز وجود دارد، اما اطلاعات دقیقی از فعالیت‌های درون آن در دست نیست.» او یادآور شد که ایران پیش‌تر قصد خود را برای انتقال تجهیزات به زیر کوه جهت «مصون‌سازی در برابر حملات» اعلام کرده بود.

این اظهارات در پی ارجاع پرونده هسته‌ای ایران به شورای امنیت سازمان ملل مطرح می‌شود. بر اساس گزارش‌ها، آژانس از ژوئن ۲۰۲۵ و پس از حملات نظامی آمریکا و اسرائیل به تاسیسات هسته‌ای ایران، امکان راستی‌آزمایی وضعیت ذخایر اورانیوم با غنای بالا را نداشته است.
دونالد ترامپ، رئیس‌جمهوری آمریکا، بار دیگر با اشاره به این سایت زیرزمینی، نسبت به هرگونه اقدام ایران هشدار داد و در یک تجمع انتخاباتی گفت: «ما متوجه فعالیت‌های مختصری در کوه کلنگ شده‌ایم. به ایران توصیه می‌کنم دست از پا خطا نکند، چرا که مجبور خواهیم شد ضربه بسیار سختی به آن‌ها وارد کنیم.»

از سوی دیگر، سی‌ان‌ان روز گذشته به نقل از منابع خود گزارش داد که ایالات متحده در حال توسعه سلاحی با نفوذ بیشتر با قابلیت تخریب اهدافی در زمین‌های سخت مانند کوه کلنگ‌گزلا است.
