The Deputy Governor of Khuzestan announced that the Chazabeh border, like Shalamcheh, has been closed since early this morning by the announcement of Iraqi officials until further notice. According to Valiollah Hayati, no goods or passenger traffic is taking place through these borders.

A few hours ago, Reuters reported, citing two security sources, that Iraq issued an order to close the Shalamcheh border crossing between Iraq and Iran as a precautionary measure following the latest drone attacks on Saudi Arabia.

The Chazabeh border is located in the Maysan province of Iraq, and the Iraqi Prime Minister's office dismissed its operations commander early Saturday. This dismissal came after investigations confirmed that the latest drone attacks on Saudi Arabia were carried out from Iraqi territory.

معاون استاندار خوزستان اعلام کرد مرز چذابه نیز همچون شلمچه از بامداد امروز با اعلام مقام‌های عراق تا اطلاع ثانوی بسته شد. بنابر اعلام ولی‌الله حیاتی، هیچ تردد کالا و مسافری از این مرزها انجام نمی‌شود.

ساعتی پیش رویترز بع نقل از دو منبع امنیتی نوشت عراق پس از تازه‌ترین حملات پهپادی صورت‌گرفته به عربستان سعودی، دستور بستن گذرگاه مرزی شلمچه بین عراق و ایران را به عنوان یک اقدام احتیاطی صادر کرد.

مرز چذابه در استان میسان عراق قرار دارد و دفتر نخست‌وزیری عراق بامداد شنبه فرمانده عملیاتش را برکنار کرد. این برکناری پس از آن انجام شد که تحقیقات تأیید کرد آخرین حملات پهپادی به عربستان سعودی از خاک عراق انجام شده است.
