Iraqi security sources told AFP that the country's security forces have discovered drone launch pads in the remote Al-Tayeb area of the Maysan province in southern Iraq, near the border with Iran.

At the same time, Reuters reported, citing two military sources in Iraq, that this border area has been closed following the discovery of the drone launch pads.

The discovery of these pads comes after an attack on a Saudi oil pipeline; an attack that Riyadh and Baghdad have stated was carried out from Iraqi territory. Baghdad also closed the Shalamcheh and Chazabeh border crossings on Saturday.

منابع امنیتی عراق به خبرگزاری فرانسه گفتند نیروهای امنیتی این کشور سکوهای پرتاب پهپاد را منطقه دورافتاده الطیب در استان میسان در جنوب عراق و در نزدیکی مرز با ایران کشف کرده‌اند.

همزمان خبرگزاری رویترز به نقل از دو منبع نظامی در عراق اعلام کرد این منطقه مرزی پس از کشف سکوهای پرتاب پهپاد بسته شده است.

کشف این سکوها پس از حمله به خط لوله نفت عربستان سعودی انجام شده است؛ حمله‌ای که ریاض و بغداد گفته‌اند از خاک عراق انجام شده است. بغداد روز شنبه گذرگاه‌های مرزی شلمچه و چذابه را نیز بسته بود.
