The United Nations Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Iran announced in its latest report that there are reasonable grounds to believe that the United States committed "war crimes" during the conflict with the Islamic Republic in two airstrikes on Iran. According to this report, these attacks killed at least 178 civilians, including women and children.

In a report presented to the UN Human Rights Council, the mission examined the attacks by the U.S. and Israel on March 1, 2025, and concluded that the U.S. carried out two indiscriminate attacks that resulted in the deaths or injuries of civilians and damage to civilian sites.

Based on the findings of the fact-finding mission, in one of these instances, Tomahawk missiles struck the Shajareh Tayebeh elementary school in Minab. The mission stated that this school was clearly identifiable, and in this attack, more than 150 people, including about 120 children, were killed.

In another case, the U.S. used precision-guided missiles to scatter tungsten pellets over a sports complex and residential area in Lamerd. According to the report, this attack killed 22 civilian men and women.
