The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced in a statement early on Friday, September 27, that the tanker "Trend," flying the flag of Togo, was targeted last night while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and has been halted after catching fire. The IRGC stated in this announcement that the tanker intended to make an "illegal passage" through this international waterway and warned that vessels that attempt to pass in this manner will face "destruction."

نیروی دریایی سپاه پاسداران بامداد جمعه ۲۷ شهریور در بیانیهای اعلام کرد نفتکش «ترند» با پرچم کشور توگو، شب گذشته هنگام تلاش برای عبور از تنگه هرمز هدف قرار گرفته و پس از آتشسوزی متوقف شده است.
سپاه پاسداران در این بیانیه گفت که این نفتکش قصد «عبور غیرقانونی» از این آبراه بینالمللی را داشته و هشدار داده است شناورهایی که به این شکل عبور کنند، با «نابودی» روبهرو خواهند شد.
