According to CNN, Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated on Thursday, September 24, that Tehran has presented a proposal to the United States that could lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of negotiations aimed at reaching a "final agreement."
Araghchi mentioned that this proposal was conveyed to Washington through intermediaries earlier this week, and under its terms, the U.S. must implement specific conditions within seven days for negotiations to resume and the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened. He did not disclose the details of these conditions but noted that they are "nothing more" than the provisions of the Islamabad agreement.
According to the report, the Islamabad agreement, reached between Iran and the U.S. in June, included the reduction of sanctions, the release of Iran's frozen assets, and the cessation of military operations, including in Lebanon. A White House official also responded to Araghchi's remarks to CNN, stating that discussions through intermediaries have been "positive and constructive."
