Mike Waltz, the U.S. representative to the United Nations, stated that Washington rejected Iran's seven-day ceasefire proposal and the reopening of the "Strait of Hormuz" due to Tehran's conditions, including "access to billions of dollars in frozen assets" and "the lifting of sanctions."
Waltz, in an interview with NBC News on Sunday, October 5, 1405, explained the reasons for the Trump administration's opposition to Iran's proposal: "They want billions of dollars in frozen funds and are asking for the lifting of sanctions."
