Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of the "Supreme National Security Council," in a meeting with Shahin Mustafayev, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, reiterated the positions of other officials of the Islamic Republic, stating: "Trump is stuck in a quagmire where he can neither negotiate nor fight."
He added: "Iran's conditions have been communicated to the U.S., but Trump is unable to make decisions, and the U.S., in desperation for military action, has resorted to air blockade."
Rezaei continued: "The U.S. has no future in the region, and Iran stands firmly against it."

Just hours earlier, Abbas Araghchi, on the verge of returning from New York to Tehran, stated that his mission on this trip was to inform the United States of Iran's conditions, including regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic had said, "Iran has a plan in this regard, its conditions are completely fair and logical, and if the Americans claim they are seeking an agreement or a peaceful solution, we have introduced this solution."

محسن رضایی، دبیر "شورای عالی امنیت ملی"، در دیدار با شاهین مصطفی‌اف، معاون نخست‌وزیر جمهوری آذربایجان، با تکرار مواضع دیگر مقام‌های جمهوری اسلامی گفت: «ترامپ در باتلاقی گرفتار شده که نه می‌تواند مذاکره کند و نه می‌تواند بجنگد.»
او افزود: «شروط ایران به آمریکا اعلام شده، اما ترامپ قادر به تصمیم‌گیری نیست و آمریکا از سر استیصال در جنگ نظامی به محاصره هوایی روی آورده است.»
رضایی ادامه داد: «آمریکا آینده‌ای در منطقه ندارد و ایران با قدرت در مقابل آن ایستاده است.»

ساعاتی پیش از این عباس عراقچی در آستانه بازگشت از نیویورک به تهران گفته بود که ماموریتش در این سفر این بود که شروط ایران از جمله درباره بازگشایی تنگه هرمز را به اطلاع ایالات متحده برساند.
وزیر خارجه در جمهوری اسلامی گفته بود که «ایران در این خصوص طرح دارد، شروطش، کاملا عادلانه و منطقی است و اگر آمریکایی‌ها ادعا دارند که دنبال توافق هستند یا دنبال یک راه حل مسالمت‌آمیز هستند، ما این راه حل را معرفی کردیم.»
