Scott Basset, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, stated in an interview with Axios that the maritime blockade of Iran is having an impactful effect, announcing that for the first time since the beginning of oil exports, Iran will have no oil available for loading and transfer via sea this week.
He also noted the diminishing influence of the Islamic Republic's armed forces in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the U.S. has facilitated the passage of 1.1 billion barrels of oil through this waterway.
The U.S. Treasury Secretary also mentioned that Washington is isolating Iran "in an unprecedented manner."

اسکات بسنت، وزیر خزانه‌داری آمریکا در گفتگو با رسانه آکسیوس، با تاکید بر تاثیربخشی محاصره دریایی ایران اعلام کرد، ایران برای نخستین بار از زمان آغاز صادرات نفت، در هفته جاری هیچ نفتی برای بارگیری و انتقال از طریق دریا نخواهد داشت.
او همچنین با اشاره به کم اثر شدن نفود نیروهای مسلح جمهوری اسلامی در تنگه هرمز افزود، آمریکا عبور ۱.۱ میلیارد بشکه نفت از را از این آبراهه تسهیل کرده است.
وزیر خزانه‌داری آمریکا همچنین گفت واشنگتن در حال منزوی کردن ایران «به شکلی بی‌سابقه» است.
