Masoud Pezeshkian met and discussed with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, on Thursday, October 8 (16 Mehr).

This meeting took place in Turkmenistan on the sidelines of two summits: the "Caspian Sea Coastal States" and the "Heads of Commonwealth of Independent States."

In this meeting, Putin addressed Pezeshkian, saying, "We know that Iran is making genuine efforts to end this conflict; a conflict for which Iran bears no responsibility at the outset."

Pezeshkian also told Putin, "Every time we talk [with the U.S.], they attack again, but we will not step away from the negotiating table."

مسعود پزشکیان روز پنج‌شنبه ۸ اکتبر (۱۶ مهر)، با ولادیمیر پوتین، رئیس‌جمهور روسیه، دیدار و گفت‌وگو کرد.
 
این دیدار در ترکمنستان و در حاشیه دو نشست «کشورهای ساحلی دریای خزر» و «سران کشورهای مستقل مشترک‌المنافع» صورت گرفت.
 
پوتین در این دیدار خطاب به پزشکیان گفت «ما می‌دانیم که ایران تلاش‌های واقعی برای پایان دادن به این درگیری انجام می‌دهد؛ درگیری‌ای که ایران در آغاز آن هیچ تقصیری ندارد.»
 
پزشکیان هم در این دیدار به پوتین گفت «هر بار که [با آمریکا] گفت‌وگو می‌کنیم، دوباره حمله می‌کنند، ولی ما از میز مذاکره و گفت‌وگو کنار نخواهیم کشید.»
