The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, has reported that some officials of the Islamic Republic have warned in public messages and private discussions with regional leaders that the Islamic Republic will respond to new U.S. attacks by escalating conflicts in the Middle East.
The sources referenced by the newspaper indicated that the mention of the potential ground entry of Iranian forces into neighboring territories is part of the Islamic Republic's efforts to deter Washington from launching an attack.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Islamic Republic officials have separately informed neighboring Arab leaders that if hostilities resume, targets in the region, including Saudi Arabian oil facilities, may be attacked.
Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, also threatened in a television interview on Sunday, October 10, that if the war resumes, the region's digital infrastructure, including communication cables, data centers, and artificial intelligence facilities, will be targeted.
