Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, on Wednesday, October 22, in response to a question from an Army Radio reporter regarding reports about a potential imminent attack by the U.S. or Israel on Iran before the Israeli elections, said: "In my opinion, this [action] is not suitable for us."

According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu referred to his plans in case of winning the elections again, stating: "In the next two years, we will completely destroy Hamas, eliminate Hezbollah entirely, and topple the Iranian regime."

The Times of Israel noted that in the past, Israel and the United States had attempted to downplay the likelihood of an attack on Iran to catch the Islamic Republic by surprise.

بنیامین نتانیاهو، نخست وزیر اسرائیل روز چهارشنبه ۲۲ مهرماه و در پاسخ به پرسش خبرنگار رادیو ارتش اسرائیل درباره گزارش‌های ناظر بر احتمال حمله قریب‌الوقوع آمریکا یا اسرائیل به ایران پیش از انتخابات اسرائیل گفت: «به نظر من، این [اقدام] برای ما مناسب نیست.»

به گزارش تایمز اسرائیل، نتانیاهو با اشاره به  برنامه خود در صورت پیروزی دوباره در انتخابات گفت: «: «در دو سال آینده، حماس را کاملا نابود خواهیم کرد، حزب‌الله را به‌طور کامل از بین خواهیم برد و حکومت ایران را سرنگون خواهیم کرد.»

تایمز اسرائیل با اشاره به دو جنگ پیشین اسرائیل و آمریکا با ایران نوشته است «در گذشته، اسرائیل و ایالات متحده تلاش کرده بودند تا احتمال حمله به ایران را کم‌اهمیت جلوه دهند تا جمهوری اسلامی را غافلگیر کنند.»
