Iranian media reported that Yaser Taheri, a member of the Clergy Society of Mazandaran and the Imam of Imam Hassan Askari Mosque in the Rahband area of Sari, was murdered at his home on Thursday, October 15.

According to initial reports, this cleric was killed with a "cold weapon," but no details have yet been released regarding the motive for the murder or the identity of the perpetrator or perpetrators.

This cleric was also referred to as the head of the Mahdavi Neighborhood Headquarters in southern Sari. He consistently emphasized the role of the Basij and supported the Islamic Republic in his speeches.

رسانه‌های ایران گزارش دادند که یاسر طاهری، عضو جامعه روحانیت مرکز مازندران و امام جماعت مسجد امام حسن عسکری در منطقه راهبند ساری، روز پنجشنبه ۲۳ مهر در خانه‌اش به قتل رسیده است.

براساس گزارش‌های اولیه، این روحانی با «سلاح سرد» کشته شده است، اما هنوز جزئیاتی درباره انگیزه قتل یا هویت عامل یا عاملان آن منتشر نشده است.

از این آخوند همچنین به عنوان رئیس قرارگاه محله مهدوی جنوب شهر ساری یاد شده است. او همواره بر جایگاه بسیج تاکید داشت و در سخنرانی‌های خود از جمهوری اسلامی حمایت همه جانبه می‌کرد.
