Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, likened the Islamic Republic to cancer and stated that if the Iranian regime is not eliminated, it will return. He also spoke about the possibility of military action against the Iranian government again and accused the Islamic Republic of trying to influence the elections in Israel.
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, in an interview with the Hebrew network i24 News, Netanyahu referred to his government's actions against Tehran, saying: "We have done 90% of the work, but you know, it's like cancer. If you don't get rid of this regime in Iran, it will come back."
In another part of this interview, the Prime Minister of Israel mentioned signs of attempts to interfere in the elections of the country and speculated that the Islamic Republic might orchestrate security incidents to influence voters.

نتانیاهو، روز شنبه ۲۵ مهر ۱۴۰۵، در گفت‌وگو با شبکه عبری آی۲۴ نیوز، با اشاره به اقدامات دولتش علیه تهران گفت: «ما ۹۰ درصد کار را انجام داده‌ایم، اما می‌دانید، این مثل سرطان است. اگر از شر این رژیم در ایران خلاص نشوید، بازخواهد گشت.»
نخست‌وزیر اسراییل در بخش دیگری از این مصاحبه گفت نشانه‌هایی از تلاش برای دخالت در انتخابات این کشور وجود دارد و احتمال داد جمهوری اسلامی برای تاثیرگذاری بر رای‌دهندگان، حوادث امنیتی ترتیب دهد.
