According to a report by "Axios" and based on a "non-classified" intelligence memo dated November 1 (October 23) addressed to Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor, Jay Clayton, the Director of National Intelligence, warned of the "significant progress" in Iran's plans to assassinate American officials and citizens in the Middle East and some other regions.
The document emphasizes that information regarding these threats should reach a broader range of at-risk personnel, and for this purpose, Clayton has suggested reducing the classification level of these documents.
Simultaneously with the release of this warning, "CNN" reported that the U.S. State Department, in response to threats arising from Iranian plots and Houthi attacks, issued an order to reduce the diplomatic staff and evacuate family members and non-essential personnel from its embassies and consulates in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran), the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Qatar, and Jordan.
