Donald Trump, at a campaign rally in Mississippi, referred to the conflicts with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the establishment of a ceasefire, saying: "We established a small ceasefire that I never really liked and considered a waste of time. Of course, one wants to listen to the experts, but we gave a small ceasefire to allow a few ships to come in because we wanted to be nice, but as far as I'm concerned, it was just wasting time."

He emphasized that "we did not start the war with Iran; rather, Iran started the war with us," adding: "Iran has been doing these actions against us for years; they are building advanced weapons and are very smart people, but we have dealt heavy blows to them."

Trump also mentioned Iran's missile capabilities, stating: "They had a missile that could reach Europe, and if no action was taken, they would target our cities; they would hit San Diego and Los Angeles; therefore, someone had to take action, and it needed to be done quickly."

دونالد ترامپ در گردهمایی انتخاباتی در ایالت می‌سی‌سی‌پی با اشاره به درگیری‌ها با جمهوری اسلامی ایران و برقراری یک دوره توقف در درگیری‌ها گفت:
«ما یک آتش‌بس کوچک برقرار کردیم که من هرگز چندان از آن خوشم نیامد و آن را نوعی اتلاف وقت دانستم.
البته آدم مایل است به حرف افراد متخصص گوش کند، اما یک آتش‌بس کوچک دادیم تا اجازه دهیم چند کشتی وارد شوند چون می‌خواستیم لطف کنیم، اما تا جایی که به من مربوط می‌شود فقط هدر دادن زمان بود.»

او با اشاره به اینکه «ما جنگ با ایران را شروع نکردیم، بلکه ایران جنگ با ما را آغاز کرد»، تأکید کرد: «ایران سال‌ها است این اقدامات را علیه ما انجام می‌دهد؛ آن‌ها سلاح‌های پیشرفته می‌سازند و افراد بسیار باهوشی هستند، اما ما ضربات سنگینی به آن‌ها وارد کردیم.»

ترامپ همچنین با اشاره به توان موشکی حکومت ایران افزود: «آن‌ها موشکی داشتند که به اروپا می‌رسید و اگر اقدامی نمی‌شد شهرهای ما را هم هدف قرار می‌دادند؛ سن‌دیه‌گو و لس‌آنجلس را می‌زدند؛ بنابراین یک نفر باید دست به کار می‌شد و این کار باید به سرعت انجام می‌گرفت».
