The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, November 6, citing American officials and informed sources, that JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, has sent a letter to Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic.
The newspaper wrote that Vance is trying to engage with one of the most powerful hardline figures in the Islamic Republic to revive peace negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
These efforts come as Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has threatened to resume war after next week's midterm elections.

وال‌استریت ژورنال چهارشنبه ششم آبان، به نقل از مقام‌های آمریکایی و افراد مطلع گزارش داد که جی‌دی ونس، معاون رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، نامه‌ای به محسن رضایی، دبیر شورای عالی امنیت ملی جمهوری اسلامی، فرستاده است.
این روزنامه نوشت که ونس در تلاش است با یکی از قدرتمندترین چهره‌های تندرو جمهوری اسلامی وارد تعامل شود تا مذاکرات صلح میان واشینگتن و تهران را احیا کند.
این تلاش‌ها در حالی صورت می‌گیرد که دونالد ترامپ، رییس‌جمهوری آمریکا، تهدید کرده است پس از انتخابات میان‌دوره‌ای هفته آینده، جنگ را از سر خواهد گرفت.
