According to the report from the UK Maritime Trade Operations, the captain of a passing ship observed a fire on another vessel approximately 17 kilometers north of the port of Khasab, Oman. مرکز عملیات تجارت دریایی بریتانیا (UKMTO) پنج‌شنبه ۷ آبان از آتش‌سوزی یک شناور در تنگه هرمز خبر داد؛ هم‌زمان، سپاه مدعی شد سه نفتکش پس از برخورد با مین منفجر شده‌اند، اما سنتکام شامگاه چهارشنبه ۶ آبان ادعاهای ایران درباره برخورد کشتی‌های تجاری با مین در این آبراه را رد کرد.
