The death sentence of Leila Abolhasani, one of the detainees from the protests in December 2024, has been overturned by the Supreme Court, and her case has been returned to the court for re-examination. Abolhasani had previously been sentenced to death by the fifth branch of the Revolutionary Court in Isfahan on charges of "moharebeh" (waging war against God).
The news agency HRANA has reported that the Supreme Court, following an appeal by Abolhasani's lawyer, has annulled her death sentence and referred the case back to the court for further proceedings.
