Judicial and law enforcement authorities in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province reported the death of Ismail Islami Babaheidari, the mayor of Junqan, due to a gunshot wound.

The Mizan News Agency quoted the head of the judiciary in Farsan County, stating that this incident occurred early Wednesday morning, November 6, in Farsan County.

Abdolali Arzhang, the political and security deputy of the governor of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, also told the IRNA news agency that based on initial information, this incident was "not a security issue."
