JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, said on Thursday, October 29, during a Q&A session on Fox News in Fort Worth, Texas, that Donald Trump will not allow the U.S. conflict with Iran to turn into an "endless war."
In response to a question from a student about Trump's campaign promises to end costly foreign wars, Vance stated, "We have been involved with Iran for seven months now. The United States has been dealing with Iran for 47 years, and I promise you, Donald Trump will not allow Iran to become an endless war."
He added that his dissatisfaction with U.S. military interventions in the Middle East was one of the main reasons he entered politics.

جی‌دی ونس، معاون رئیس‌جمهوری ایالات متحده، روز پنجشنبه هفتم آبان در نشست پرسش و پاسخ شبکهٔ فاکس‌نیوز در فورت ورث ایالت تگزاس گفت که دونالد ترامپ اجازه نخواهد داد درگیری آمریکا با ایران به «جنگی بی‌پایان» تبدیل شود.
ونس در پاسخ به پرسش یکی از دانشجویان دربارهٔ وعده‌های انتخاباتی دولت ترامپ برای پایان دادن به جنگ‌های پرهزینهٔ خارجی گفت: «هفت ماه است که به شکلی درگیر ایران هستیم. ایالات متحده ۴۷ سال است که با ایران سروکار دارد و به شما قول می‌دهم دونالد ترامپ اجازه نخواهد داد ایران به یک جنگ بی‌پایان تبدیل شود.»
او با اشاره به سابقهٔ خدمت نظامی خود در عراق افزود که نارضایتی از مداخلات نظامی آمریکا در خاورمیانه یکی از دلایل اصلی ورودش به سیاست بوده است.
