The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced in its latest warning that a small boat approached a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz and attached two explosive devices to its hull. The explosion of these materials caused a fire in the engine room and temporarily disabled the tanker. The identity of this boat has not been specified in the announcement.
According to the report, the incident occurred at 22:12 UTC on October 29, 25 nautical miles northeast of Khasab, Oman. The tanker was in the process of exiting the Strait of Hormuz at the time of the incident.
