A military coalition led by Saudi Arabia announced that it intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by Houthi forces supported by the Islamic Republic in the Mecca region.

This incident is the latest in a series of cross-border attacks attributed to the Houthis against Saudi Arabia. In recent weeks, the Houthis have targeted military facilities, airports, and energy infrastructure in the country using drones and missiles.

The Houthis have not yet responded to this incident. The group has previously denied accusations of attacking Mecca and Medina, the two holy cities of Muslims.

ائتلاف نظامی به رهبری عربستان سعودی اعلام کرد یک پهپاد پرتاب‌شده از سوی حوثی‌های مورد حمایت جمهوری اسلامی را در منطقه مکه رهگیری و منهدم کرده است.

این حادثه تازه‌ترین مورد از حملات فرامرزی منتسب به حوثی‌ها علیه عربستان سعودی است.
حوثی‌ها در هفته‌های اخیر با استفاده از پهپادها و موشک‌ها، تاسیسات نظامی، فرودگاه‌ها و زیرساخت‌های انرژی این کشور را هدف قرار داده‌اند.

حوثی‌ها تاکنون به این حادثه واکنشی نشان نداده‌اند. این گروه پیش‌تر بارها اتهام حمله به مکه و مدینه، دو شهر مقدس مسلمانان، را رد کرده است.
