Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council in the Islamic Republic, commented on the letter from JD Vance, a deputy to Trump, saying: "I have read the letter. I have not yet responded to it. The tone has completely changed, and this is a very good sign that the Iranian nation has established its power and victory."

In an interview with the Islamic Republic's broadcasting service, Rezaei added that since they have not raised any points from the letter, I will not say anything for now.

Regarding the possibility of changing the Islamic Republic's nuclear doctrine, he stated: "No new decision has been made yet in the government; however, the discussion is raised about whether we want to maintain the same doctrine if war breaks out again or not. No decision has been made, but the Iranian nation is seeking logical demands."

محسن رضایی، دبیر شورای عالی امنیت ملی در جمهوری اسلامی، درباره نامه جی‌دی ونس، معاون ترامپ، گفت: «نامه را مطالعه کردم. هنوز پاسخی به این نامه نداده‌ام. کاملا لحن تغییر کرده و این علامت بسیار خوبی است که ملت ایران اقتدار و پیروزی خود را تثبیت کرده است.

محسن رضایی در گفت‌وگو با صداوسیمای جمهوری اسلامی آبان، افزود که چون آن‌ها چیزی از نامه را طرح نکرده‌اند، من هم فعلا چیزی نمی‌گویم.

او درباره احتمال تغییر دکترین هسته‌ای جمهوری اسلامی گفت: «هنوز در دولت، در حکومت، تصمیم جدیدی گرفته نشده است؛ البته این بحث مطرح است که اگر دوباره جنگ شود، ما می‌خواهیم همان دکترین را داشته باشیم یا نه. تصمیمی گرفته نشده اما ملت ایران به دنبال یک مطالبات منطقی هستند.»
