Yamaha's team has announced that they will not participate in the Qatar Grand Prix motorcycle racing due to the "situation in the Middle East."
The Japanese company stated on Sunday that, considering the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East, the Yamaha team will not travel to Doha for the MotoGP races taking place next week.
Meanwhile, the organizing body of the event criticized Yamaha's decision, calling it "disappointing."
This race is the twentieth round of this season's MotoGP championship, scheduled to be held from November 6 to 8 (Aban 15 to 17) at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar.
Recently, this is the second time that the region's unstable situation has led to the cancellation of international sporting events.
On November 25 (Aban 3), the organizers of the Dakar Rally announced that the race would not take place in Saudi Arabia; a decision made due to "recent developments in the region."
