Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, warned Iran's neighbors on Tuesday, November 3rd, saying: "The countries in the region should know that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for battle with its finger on the trigger, and it will give a powerful and rational response to the American side. Now the ball is in America's court to prevent war."

Qalibaf, who is still considered the "chief negotiator" of the Iranian government in negotiations with the U.S., claimed in a speech before the agenda in the open session of the parliament: "At the same time, we are at the highest level of defensive readiness in the military field, and if Washington makes another strategic mistake, it should know that this time it will face a new battlefield and will be more desperate than today in seeking a way out."

These remarks come as indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington continue, while CENTCOM bombed areas in Qeshm Island in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

محمدباقر قالیباف، رئیس مجلس شورای اسلامی روز سه‌شنبه ۱۲ آبان‌ماه با هشدار به همسایگان ایران گفت: «کشورهای منطقه بدانند جمهوری اسلامی ایران همان گونه که با انگشت روی ماشه برای نبرد آماده است، پاسخی مقتدرانه و عقلانی به طرف آمریکایی داده و اکنون توپ در زمین آمریکاست که از جنگ جلوگیری کند.»

قالیباف که همچنان «مذاکره‌کننده ارشد» حکومت ایران در مذاکرات با آمریکا به شمار می‌رود در سخنرانی پیش از دستور در صحن علنی مجلس مدعی شد: «همزمان ما در عرصه‌‌ی میدانی و نظامی در بالاترین سطح آمادگی دفاعی قرار داریم و اگر واشنگتن بازهم دچار خطای استراتژیک شود بداند که این بار با میدانی جدید از جنگ مواجه شده و درمانده‌تر از امروز به دنبال راه فرار خواهد بود.»

این اظهارات همزمان با ادامه مذاکرات غیرمستقیم تهران و واشنگتن و در حالی مطرح می‌شود که سنتکام نیمه‌شب دوشنبه و در نخستین دقایق بامداد سه‌شنبه، مناطقی را در جزیره قشم بمباران کرد.
