This newspaper, close to the principlist faction, reported that the strategy of confrontation "without geographical limitations" suggests an increased likelihood of the war expanding beyond the Middle East, and that air, naval, and support centers for U.S. forces in Europe could be included in Iran's list of potential targets.

روزنامه «همشهری»، وابسته به شهرداری تهران، در صفحه نخست شماره سه‌شنبه ۱۲ آبان۱۴۰۵، با انتشار یک تصویرسازی از پایگاه‌های نظامی آمریکا در کشورهای اروپایی، آن‌ها را اهداف احتمالی موشک‌های جمهوری اسلامی در صورت آغاز جنگی تازه معرفی کرده است.
این روزنامه نزدیک به جریان اصولگرا، در گزارشی با اشاره به راهبرد تقابل «بدون محدودیت جغرافیایی»، نوشته است که احتمال گسترش جنگ به خارج از خاورمیانه افزایش یافته و پایگاه‌های هوایی، دریایی و مراکز پشتیبانی نیروهای آمریکایی در اروپا می‌توانند در فهرست اهداف احتمالی ایران قرار گیرند.
